Rules
We have summarized the rules of the classes on this page. We comply with SKHH Ry’s rules: show jumping, dressage and shows.
In the judging, the goal is impartial and fair competition.
Common rules
- The entrance door must be closed so that outsiders cannot access the event.
- Only light-soled shoes may be worn at the venue
- There are trash cans marked on the map at the venue where you can leave your trash
- The premises of the event must not be vandalized
- During the performances, the judges must have peace, but we are happy to answer questions during breaks or between performances
- Free Riding is for visitors and competitors who are not competing in the current class.
Warm-up rules
- Only competitors starting in the current class may ride in the warm-up arena
- Arrive for the warm-up 5-10 minutes before your own start, so that there is no traffic jam
- Competitors must consider other competitors and dodge if necessary
- The height of the fences should be kept to max. in class height and not to be moved at all
Dressage rules
The competitor performs the required movements given in advance to the rhythm of the music or the program. Each required movement/part is scored with numbers 0-10, after which the points are added up and converted into percentages. The contestant with the highest percentage wins. The program is ridden on arena A (21 x 7m). The judge sits at the letter C.
Notes in the equipment:
- Wear light-soled shoes
- The bridle must have two reins, which must not come from the same point: for example, you cannot put two reins in one bit, unless the bit has two different rings. So if the rider so wishes, the bridle can be bitless, as long as the aforementioned condition is met.
Music
- Music duration max. 3 min. 30 sec.
- Return of the music to 13.9.2023 info@ecpcrb.fi at the latest. The music should be sent in such a way that it can be downloaded as a file.
- (Make the program yourself to the rhythm of the music with the required movements!) Learn the pre-given program in advance.
- Warm up before you start to ensure the best performance in the class.
- The judge will announce your start, so you can enter the court. Note don't go inside the school fences yet.
- The judge gives a separate starting signal (one ring of the clock), after which the rider can start to perform the program.
- (The music starts when you give the signal by raising your hand (the start of the music can also be agreed separately, e.g. it starts with a greeting).) If the competitor starts to complete the program before the start signal (or enters the dressage arena), the performance can be rejected.
-
If the clock rings in the middle of the program:
One ring of the clock: the judge stops the performance for a moment. Listen to the announcement.
Two rings of the clock: The performance is eliminated and the competitor must leave the arena. - After completing the program, you must leave the arena in free walk.

- Learn the obstacle course carefully! On September 13, 2023, course plans will be added to the Classes page.
- At the beginning of the class there is a 5-minute course walk, which the judge announces separately. Obstacles must not be jumped or moved during the course walk, under the threat of elimination.
- Warm up before you start to guarantee the best performance in the class.
- The judge announces your turn to start, after which you can move onto the arena.
- Greet the judge eg. by raising your hand so that the judge can see that you are ready to start.
- The judge gives the start signal (one ring of the clock), after which the horse can start to complete the obstacle course. If the rider crosses the starting line before the starting mark, the performance is rejected.
- The time is started, when the rider crosses the starting line.
-
If judge rings the clock in the middle of the course:
One ring: the performance is stopped for a moment and the time is stopped until the obstacle is fixed. The judge will announce the matter. A new ring of the clock means continuing the course.
