The name ECP & CRB has come from the name of the two hobbyhorse stables Kht Eclipse and Kht Caribia. However, to find out how the two became friends, let’s go back 13 years back to 2012.
Erika and Sofia became friends at hobbyhorse competition
Our story unexpectedly begins with hobbyhorse competitions, in Kerava 2012. Erika and Sofia had come to the same place, without knowing each other. At the time, both of them were hard to compete and, of course, came to compete for the class rankings. The duo won prizes in different classes, so a discussion inevitably arose during the prize ceremony between these two.
In the future, Erika and Sofia went to competitions together, gaining experience in competing. Erika already organized competitions at home at that time, and Sofia competed in them.
Gradually, the origin of the name began to emerge
Before the ECP & CRB competitions, Kht Eclipse and Kht Caribia competitions were organized in 2013. The competitions already attracted attention at that time with fine decorations. The two traveled around Uusimaa, competing and gathering prizes and experience.
We realized that Eclipse and Caribia abbreviations of the hobbyhorse stables sounded good together. This is how ECP & CRB name was born, as well as the first competitions ECP & CRB Knockout in 2014. Hobbyhorse competitions had now become a permanent part of the organizers’ lives, so organizing them felt natural for both. No one was going to stop this train, and year after year we wanted to revolutionize our world and the world of others with hobbyhorse competitions.
Eventing revolutionized hobbyhorse world
Erika and Sofia decided to organize the first ECP & CRB Eventing competitions in 2015. The competitions were a success. Erika and Sofia had finally found a sport they liked and wanted to organize more eventing competitions for enthusiasts.
The second ECP & CRB Eventing competitions were organized with great popularity in 2015. In the same year, the ECP & CRB Show Jumping competitions were organized, and for the first time, Erika and Sofia judged the Show Jumping classes of Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships.
Last ECP & CRB Eventing competitions
The third and last eventing competitions with the old brand look. Unfortunately – ECP & CRB stopped organizing competitions and announced this in the summer of 2017 after the competitions. The reason was the lack of time and interest of both organizers to continue competitions.
2018, 2019, and 2022 were spent in Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships running the show jumping team and in the RW Challenge. Helping and judging competitions started to pay off and Erika asked Sofia a question: what if ECP & CRB came back? In November 2022, excited about the competitions, Erika and Sofia started planning a new event in secret.
New brand & new competitions
The return of ECP & CRB was released on February 22 as a surprise for everyone. Erika and Sofia want to once again revolutionize hobbyhorse world, offering high-quality competitions from enthusiasts to enthusiasts. The venue had to be in the Helsinki region and close to public transport. The Keravanjoen Monitoimitalo offers a comprehensive setting for both, as well as a large hall for a larger audience.
We like to keep the old ECP & CRB with us and haven’t forgotten eventing forever. That’s why we offer all three classes of eventing in our renewed competitions. Maybe even in the future we will organize whole eventing competitions again? Only time will tell.
